The Grumpytime Club Band!

The Grumpytime Club Band is a red and gold 3 - 7 piece (depending on the event) family music party band including kid musicians and costumed dancers. Playing original music from my award-winning 2021 album, The Grumpytime Club, plus lots of fun covers and new tunes, we will rock any fair or festival with our high-energy funky folk-pop.  Featuring a shifting pallet of horns, violin, guitar, mandolin, keys, bass and drums, our music is highly danceable and truly fun for all ages, highlighting themes of inclusivity, social justice, Earth stewardship and LGBTQ youth/family pride.

Please contact me for more information, rates, and booking. Thanks!

Library Concerts

Rocking at the Library!

My concerts for libraries and pre-schools are fun and interactive, with plenty of dancing, singing, and audience participation.  My music is positive and upbeat, featuring themes of inclusivity, self-care, accepting feelings, love of nature, environmental stewardship, and just all around joy for life.  As an LGBTQ artist I am particularly interested in offering supportive and encouraging messages to LGBTQ children and their families.

My concerts for libraries comes in two sizes:  Either a 45 minute program of just me with my keyboard and guitar, or an hour (or 1 and 1/2 hour) long concert with me and my highly - danceable band, The Grumpytime Club Band, which features several teen musicians.  Both shows, but especially the full band show, are great as all-ages outdoor events.  If a sound system is not available we can provide our own.

Please contact me for more information, rates, and booking.  Thanks so much!

Backyard Concerts and Birthday Parties

Fun For Everyone!

Invite us to play in your backyard or at your child's birthday party!  These shows are typically just me and my instruments, or with a trio or quartet.  Super fun and easily tailored to your event.

Testimonials (Music for Children and Families)

"Carrie Ferguson and The Grumpytime Club Band put on a fantastic show for us at the Charlton Public Library and had kids and adults out of their seats and dancing in the aisles! Their original songs about the importance of being who you are, and being kind and accepting of others were truly inspiring."

- Molly Garlick, Head of Youth Services, Charlton Public Library, Charlton, MA

"Carrie Ferguson and the Grumpytime Club Band played at the Erving Public Library's Summer Reading Celebration -- the music was inviting for all ages and created the "family party" atmosphere the library was looking for. We highly suggest booking this group for your next celebration. You will not be disappointed!"

- Abigail Baines, Director, Erving Public Library, Erving, MA

"Carrie played a show at the library concert series over the Summer and the community really came together to enjoy her music which has such a positive message.  Carrie’s concert was such a success and salve for the community."

- Miriam Warner, Assistant Librarian, Wendell Free Library, Wendell, MA

I loved seeing young musicians featured in the Grumpytime band, and the innovation of a dance leader at our performance really engaged the whole room. We had a great span of ages from babies to elementary school aged kids and their caregivers. We loved the band's presentation, including everyone’s sparkly gold shoes! We loved having them here and look forward to having them back again!

- Mia Cabana, Head of Youth Services, Jones Library, Amherst, MA

"If I had to choose one word to describe a Carrie Ferguson & Grumptime Club Band concert it would be “joyful”.  Their catchy songs with meaningful and poetic lyrics make you want to dance.  Messages of kindness, inclusion, and a celebration of what makes us each unique and human run throughout their music.  The combination of fun and funny songs, varied instruments, and a heartfelt, welcoming vibe made this event truly special for audience members of all ages.  The children who attended had so much fun!  I would definitely book them at our library again. "

–Meaghan Schwelm, Library Director, Westhampton Public Library

"We have been sharing Carrie's music during our classes for years.  Carrie's music is incredibly positive and uplifting, with themes of self confidence, positive relationships, and acceptance and support for one's emotions. It meets foundational and critical needs for children, especially now during the challenges that families faced during the pandemic. "

- Seal LaMadeleine, Director,  Deer Paths Nature School, Wendell, MA

"Carrie's music inspires our whole family to sing, laugh and dance together. Lines from her songs pop up at random all the time--from the bathtub, the backseat of the car, and from the other side of a child's bedroom door. Carrie's message of loving ourselves for exactly who we are while putting ourselves in other people's shoes has prompted family conversations about compassion, acceptance, and empathy, which we need so much right now. How is it possible to combine these more serious topics with silliness, play, and fun? Head on down to the Grumpytime Club and find out!"

-Robin Wilson, school librarian and mom of two

"Carrie and the Grumpytime Club Band came to play in our backyard and we had the most wonderful time! They had the audience dancing (both kids and grown ups) and at times it got very lively! The music was infused with a spirit of fun, unity, acceptance and just overall joy, and everyone who attended had a blast. For us, it was the perfect way to host a party where we could all be brought together by music and the beautiful views from our backyard. "

- Christine Keneally, Conway, MA
